The whole SSU community is invited to this special Shabbat dinner dedicated to One Voice. Based in the middle east one voice is a joint Israeli-Palestinian grass-roots organization working to mobilze moderates to take a stand for peace in the middle east. We will be learning more about the work they do, their upcoming programs at SSU and SRJC, and what you can do to help.

As we move toward the shortest days and longest nights, the darkest time of the year, many traditions look at the things that frighten us. Judiasm has a long tradition of scary tales of the supernatural. After dinner we will read some of them…if you’re not too frightened.

Laurel Rapp from One Voice ( www.onevoicemovement.org/ ) an organization based in the middle east that brings young Palestinian and Israeli activists together to talk about peace, will be leading a small group discussion about the work that they do, and how you can make a difference in the conflict in the middle east. She will also talk about the invitation-only training event being held Thursday night in SF. (See below for more information)
